I'm Spiffy.

I was listening to a conversation recently.

This conversation was between 2 close friends.

Both brilliant and successful.

Both humble and kind.

The way that they built each other up was a testament to the human spirit.

At one moment in the conversation,

The older of the two commented,

on how much the younger was achieving

and

commended him.

It was almost as if he validated his work and life.

You could see from the expression on the face of the one receiving the complement,

that it touched him deeply.

This is the amazing thing about people,

When you see your reflection in someone else's eyes,

It can brush off all the criticism that we heap on ourselves

And

Give a more truthful picture of how we are viewed.

Use your words to uplift each other.

Instead of leading with a complaint,

Begin with a complement then only if necessary complain.

Try it, you might love it.
