A Legacy In Love

A legacy in love
My personal memory of being his granddaughter
Is going to the spring to play while he bottled water.
Some men leave behind
Great riches that can blind
But my grandpa leaves behind
A legacy of a living kind.
A man of spiritual success
In his soul he did invest
I believe this served him best
For with 95 years he was blessed
And as he watches from above
He leaves behind a legacy of love
Therefore each day I'll try to follow
The example of this great role model
Who taught me you needn't be loud to get respect
Being kind and of few words gains the same effect
He taught me to build a legacy
That will follow me eternally.
A great legacy that is based in love
Will stretch from earth to the heavens above.
“Don't grieve for me
for I am free
I'm following the path that's laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call,
and I turned my back and left it all.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undone grief
lift up you heart and share with me
God wanted me now
he set me free.”
